Parents are encouraged to refer to the Education Bureau website or the Hong Kong Observatory website to receive announcements on the closure of schools.

Inclement Weather Procedures

Please use your discretion in deciding whether or not to send your child to school as certain areas of Hong Kong may experience more severe weather conditions.

 

Tropical Cyclones
Weather Condition Actions
When Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 is hoisted.

 

School will operate as usual unless the Education Bureau announces closure of all schools.

 

 

 

When Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 is hoisted before

school starts (normally before 7am).

 

School will operate as usual unless the Education Bureau announces closure of all schools.

 

 

 

When Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 is replaced by

No. 8 while school is in session.

 

Students will remain in school until proper arrangements are made for children to return home.

 

When Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted

before school starts.

 

School is closed.

 

 

 

When Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted

during school hours.

 

School closes and students are safely dismissed via their normal travel method or collected by parents/guardians.

 

When Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 is replaced by

No. 3 during school hours.

 

School is closed.

 

 

Heavy Rain

(i) Before school starts

(ii) During school hours

 

School will continue lessons until the end of the normal school day and ensure conditions are safe before allowing students to return home.
