Today our Year 5 & Year 6 families were invited to our Secondary School Coffee Morning meeting with different schools as part of our Premium Transition Services for YCA students. Our students were excited to meet the schools and prepared questions to ask them, such as their curriculum, their facilities, and the extra curricular activities that they offered. Parents also got to speak to the school representatives and principals, and sign up for their upcoming school events.

You are invited to our YMCA Christian Academy Open Day where you will meet our Senior Leadership and teaching team, tour the campus and see our children’s work. There will be STEM, Music and Arts workshops here you can book in advance for your child. There are 3 sessions to choose from and they are the same, so please book one session only.

We had an wonderful time at our Empowerment Week Carnival in which the children got to showcase the games they have been working on since the start of term. We had games in which you got to learn about charities, games that made you explore our core values and games in which you got to learn a little bit more about the student’s favourite things! All of the children were so passionate about what they had made and loved showing not only their peers, but also their parents too! We have had a fantastic start to the year with our Empowerment Weeks and can’t wait to see each child’s bright spark grow!

All applications received from now until 8 August 2023 will be expedited. Assessments will be arranged on or before 15 August 2023 to start in the same week or following week.

The first day of school for the 2023-24 academic year is 16 August 2023.

This special day is a time to appreciate the super dads in our community and all they do for us! The children and their dads took part in lots of different activities including coding Cutebots, science experiments with ‘squid divers’ and creating self-portraits with watercolours. This was a great morning where the children could connect with their Dad’s and show them what fun they have at YCA. We wish all of our Dads a Happy Father’s Day for Sunday and thank them for all they do.

They showcased amazing projects on how the Richter Scale detects earthquakes, how to build an earthquake proof house, diagram of the earth and more. They were very confident in explaining and answering questions their parents or visitors may have. Great job Year 3!

They engaged in various STEM activities where they learned how to programme Blue-Bots and control Dash robots. We are so proud of their independence and their attentiveness when the teacher is talking. We look forward to welcoming them back for their last transition event in June!
